Birds are a beautiful thing of nature and should be respected and admired accordingly.

However, they do not belong in the interior of a food service or food processing establishment. The possibility of contamination is why Health Departments deem it as a “Critical” food safety violation. Birds have been the source of the following pathogenic microorganisms: Campylobacter, e-coli, Listeria and Salmonella. The transfer of fecal matter is the problem, whether is directly on/in a food product or transferred from the soles of your shoes, it can cause illness.

From Tarrytown-Sleepy Hollow Patch: Thursday Farmers Market at Phelps Hospital is Back!!!

Even better this season, the market is located at the entrance of the Rockwood Hall area of Rockefeller State Park (behind Phelps Hospital). Hours are 11am to 3pm weekly through November and convenient free parking is now available in the Rockwood Hall parking lot at the end of Route 117.

From Ossining-Croton-on-Hudosn Patch : Town of Ossining Tax Foreclosure Auction 

The Town of Ossining has scheduled an Auction on Foreclosed Properties to be held on Aug. 14, 2013.

The Bidding will start at 1:00 PM at the Ossining Town/Village Municipal Building at 16 Croton Ave, in Ossining.

This marks the first Foreclosure Auction in 7 Years.  The Town rarely takes properties, because the Town Tax Office works hard to assist Taxpayers in getting all delinquent taxes paid before the Town takes a Judgment of Foreclosure.
