On a personal note

I became employed early in life in order to finance my education and I hold a degree in Paralegal Studies. I was honored to be asked to apprentice in the newly created District Attorney’s Domestic Violence Unit after my studies and remain dedicated to children’s issues across Westchester County.

I became Vice President of a physician recruitment company by working my way up the ladder, and learned a valuable lesson when I was struck by a vehicle as a pedestrian and I was told I would never walk again. I know what it is like to live a good life and have your health and career taken away in a blink of an eye. I know what it is like to reinvent yourself and fight for every penny to survive. I also know what it feels like to be handicapped and discriminated against. Therefore I am committed to finding ways to curb spending so that our taxpayers do not have any additional burden; while making sure we continue to keep the quality of village services at a level our residents deserve.

I champion and embrace the differences in people and look to praise our students, foster a meaningful and complete quality of life for our seniors, and make life easier for those that have been injured or disabled. I am happy to say by sheer determination I am walking once again, and am a proud member of the Achilles Track Club where I finished my first New York City Marathon.

My Commitments and Beliefs

I have been a resident of Ossining for six years now, and decided when I made Ossining my home, I wanted to dedicate myself to a diverse and challenging community and be part of its growth and change. I have dedicated myself to many charities, organizations, and committees. I completed the Civilian Police course in Ossining, I am responsible for the annual Christmas Drive for long term care residents for the Dominican Sisters, I am a contributor and volunteer for Ossining Matters programs, I am a Board Member of Ossining Children’s Center and am working closely with various members or Communities that Care. I am an Ossining Rotarian and am most proud of being accepted this year as an associate member of The Senate Hook and Ladder 41.

Last term I campaigned as a free and independent thinker and a fresh positive face in our community, and after a year and a half, that has not changed. I still consider myself to be a free and independent thinker and a positive consensus building member of our board. I complete my due diligence with every issue presented and make determinations based on facts. I have raised some unpopular issues and have not won every battle but continue to voice your views and opinions. I believe we need to support development and must have a “can do” attitude when developers visit and express interest in our community. I believe we must resurrect our downtown area and make it a destination for visitors from neighboring communities. I believe in consolidation of government in order to trim costs and save taxpayers money. I believe Ossining deserves the best and that we as a village should never settle for less.
