"mngordo" -- Your precious Saint Trayvon was a anti-white racist homophobicRead More gangsta-wannabe, none of which the media chose to dwell on -- but those are the (un-PC) facts. Just because a night-watchman was following you does not give you the right to bash his head into the pavement. Your sympathy for this creep is highly misplaced, thanks to the media turning him into a martyr (or maybe your own anti-white racism).

Michael - the "progeny" vs. "prodigy" was an example that I was using for theRead More whole board here (or any other board). No, your post was fine and obviously I didn't misunderstand you. I was aiming that more at a lot of folks whom I truly can't understand. You just happened to be lucky enough to misuse a word and then accuse people of not comprehending what they're reading. As far as labelling me/us as woman-haters, again that was aimed at a few other people. And actually, if I am a troll, I just troll for the opportunity to rip on people for using sweeping generalities.

Well, for all of you arguing here....whether you're a Republican or a Democrat...have you not yetRead More figured out that our government wants us to keep on fighting? No matter what side you're on, we're all being played. I do not want Hillary any more than I want anyone else who wants to run and is in the mainstream political circuit. They are all the same. None of them are Constitutionalists; they are Globalists whose only agenda is their own. So, keep fighting amongst yourselves. It's what they want. United we stand, divided we fall, and we are a nation divided. It's the Federal government's playbook. Stop fighting. As Americans, we must unite to take back our liberty. It took only 5% of the population to fight against England and Tyranny in the American Revolution. What's it going to take here now? Love my country and want it to survive. It's not looking too good.

Game of Thrones: The Ossining Version “Game of Thrones” is fictional TV drama set inRead More pseudo-medieval realm of Westeros but in a sense, it mirrors the actual state of politics in the Village of Ossining. In the series we have had Joffrey Baratheon, the mad, bad boy King of Westeros who dies because he has drunk the wrong wine i.e., he made a crucial mistake that many leaders make, i.e., which is to believe he had power by entitlement. In another episode Cersei Lannister taunts Ned Stark with these questions: “Is this meant to be your shield, Lord Stark? A piece of paper?” Unintentionally she echoes Tennyson’s poem "The Passing of Arthur"in which he writes that “authority forgets a dying king,” Basically she reminds Ned not rely on a piece of paper or a title to automatically grant him the authority to do what needs to be done. Moreover, it also means that old and traditional ways, especially those that in operated in the past might work in a stable environment, but certainly not now. Government leadership now requires the ability to actively engage others; willingness to try new approaches, techniques, and systems, and the strength to question and say no to the entrenched bureaucracy. Now the fact is that Mayor Hanauer is not Joeffrey Baratheon it just seems like he is. Actually, he is a good man who only wants the best for Ossining. However he is quite unable to shed his exterior aura of entitlement and this character flaw is the reason his ability to continue in office is doomed. Just as Joffrey was unconscious of the peril he was in, Mayor Hanauer feels secure in the knowledge that he won't be thrown out of office because he has been there for twelve years and it is evident that he underestimates his opponent, Trustee, Victoria Gearity She is much like Daenerys Targaryen, the last member of the ancient Targaryen Dynasty. This character’s past and her experiences have left her with a compassion that is unusual in a would-be conqueror. She is determined to bring justice through her reign.. Despite her strong moral compass, however, she is capable of dealing ruthlessly with her enemies. Her followers generally regard her with great respect and love. However, her primary weakness as a ruler is her youth and relative inexperience; however, she has a keen intellect and learns quickly from her mistakes. So, if you want to understand the Ossining Mayoral candidates make it a point to watch “ Game of Thrones.”

Hmmm . . . I keep hearing paranoia from left and right, but how are we to truly evaluate theRead More education we are paying for? Like so many issues that confront us today, there is no light; only heat. No method will be perfect. And, no disrespect intended, but I'm not sure parents are best situated to evaluate the efficacy of their children's education. After all, most were products of the very system we so desperately need to improve. We need SOME objective measure. Any ideas?

You cannot offer education to any person who has not had the foundation of paternal guidanceRead More beginning at birth. The maturation of the human entity revolves around initial care as an infant which means communication both oral and by tactile sensation. NURSING an infant is one of the MOST importatnt things that may be offered as a beginning point. Any amount of the process is good, but continuing for the better part of a year is best. TALKING to the infant is also paramount in awakening the receptiveness of the brain as the eyes develop and begin to truly see. Show and demonstrate any and all things. And continue through the pre-teen years. When ANY child is prepared in these ways he or she will be READY to begin secondary schooling and on into the college level and become a resposible, productive AMERICAN. Do as I did. Finish high school. Go to college & get a degree (I paid for myself). Be RESPONSIBLE for yourself. AND Be a GOOD PARENT.. PEPARE your child. THAT is YOUR JOB!!! And THANKS to my parents!!! Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.

Should plastic bags be a thing of the past?
CAPICU April 23, 2014 at 03:39 pm

Frank Esposito April 23, 2014 at 07:23 pm
Keep up the good fight Lorraine! If this CAPICU joker lived though the attack of plastic bags that IRead More just survived he would be your number one fan. California is always on the cutting edge of what is great about America. I want NYS to be just like them. Death to the plastic bags! One of my greatest fears is I will get one without the printed warning about not placing it over my head.
