Bronxville: Farmer’s Market

Where: 81 Pondfield Rd, Bronxville, NY 10708

Cost: Free

Description: Vendors come from all over the Hudson Valley area to sell their fresh fruits, vegetables and other products at the Bronxville Farmers Market. At the Bronxville Farmers Market you can find organic produce, pasture-raised meats and poultry, maple syrup, pickles, cheese, breads, local wines and so much more.

Croton: The 6th annual Toughman Half Iron

Where: Sunday, Sept. 8, opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 a.m.

When: Croton Point Park, Croton

Cost: free to watch

Description: Registration is closed, but spectators are welcome to cheer on the racers at Croton Point Park, where admission is free, and along the adult course through the Historic Hudson River Towns. For more information on the triathlons, including a guide spectators, go to http://toughmantri.com. And drivers: note the road closure alert for race on Route 9 and 9A here.

Croton: Free Sail Ride at Hudson River Day

Where: Croton Yacht Club, 6 Elliot Way, Croton-on-Hudson

When: Saturday, Sept. 7, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: As part of the Croton Yacht Club's River Day and the Hudson River Valley Ramble, Ferry Sloops will be offering free sail rides at the Croton Yacht Club. The free hourly sails are on a "first come, first served" basis. No reservations will be accepted prior to the sail day. Guests can to sign up at the Ferry Sloops table in the tent beginning at 10 a.m. for any of the day's scheduled sail times. (limit of 4 passengers per sail).

Hastings: The Take Me to the River Music & Arts Festival

Where: Draper Park in Hastings 

When: Saturday, Sept. 7 from 12 to 7 p.m.

Cost: $18 in advance; $25 at-the-gate; $5 youths ages 10 to 17; $10 for seniors and student with ID

Description: Live performances, art installations and kid-friendly activities are on tap Saturday for the seventh annual arts and music festival in Hastings. Ossining: Annual Antiques and Collectables Fair

Where: Ossining Historical Society Museum, museum grounds at 196 Croton Avenue in Ossining

When: Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, (rain date Sept. 14, 2013).

Cost: free to browse

Description: A wide variety of collectibles, antiques and freshly baked goods will be offered for sale. Bring your treasures for expert appraisals. Food and refreshments will be available all day. Over 35 venders will be participating. For information call 914-941-0001.

Pleasantville: Academy of Dance Arts Open House

Where: Academy of Dance Arts 

When: Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: Free

Description: This Pleasantville dance studio is kicking off its 14th season this weekend. There will be free demo classes, discounts, food, giveaways and more at the open house.

Sleepy Hollow: 17th Annual Sleepy Hollow Street Fair

Where: Beekman Avenue, Sleepy Hollow

When: Saturday, September 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: free

Description: Thousands of people come out to enjoy the firehouse ribs, restaurant food, outdoor cafes, and so many unique vendors and activities in this annual street festival.

Sleepy Hollow: Half Way to St. Patrick's Parade Party & Fundraiser

Where: Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, 322 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow

When: Sunday, September 8, 2013, 2 to 6 p.m., rain or shine

Cost: Donation $25, children under 12 free.

Description: The Grand Marshal and Aides for the 18th Annual Sleepy Hollow St. Patrick's Parade will be announced. Includes food, cash bar, music by:  Midnight Special. For information call: Tom Kennedy 914-693-0192 or Alice Koraca  914-631-4306, shstpatrick@aol.com.

Tarrytown: Annual Robin Birrittella Memorial Run/Walk

Where: The Crest neighborhood in Tarrytown, starting and ending at the Crest Pool, 70 Midland Avenue.

When: Saturday, Sept. 7 starting at 8:30 a.m.

Cost: $35 pre-registration for participants, $40 on race day

Description: This 5K and kid's fun run are held annually to raise money in support of families affected by cancer and to provide academic/athletic scholarships to a Sleepy Hollow High School student. The race is held in honor of Birrittella, a community legend who died at the age of 51.

Tarrytown: 3rd Annual Car Show

Where: South Green Street Parking Lot, Tarrytown

When: Saturday, Sept. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Description: Consolidated Engine hosts the 3rd Annual Anthony Ruggiero and John Kelly Memorial Car, Truck & Bike Show.
