Ossining's Avalon Affordable Housing Lottery Ends Jan. 18

What will Avalon's residents do for the surrounding business climate?

By village law, ten percent of the newly (nearly) complete Avalon housing units on North Highland in Ossining, expected to enter the market in February, must be designated as affordable units for lower income families and individuals.

Those interested in entering the lottery for these 17 of the 168 units can do so during the open enrollment now through Jan. 18.

Applications can be downloaded online or picked up at:

*Avalon Ossining residents are responsible for gas, electric, water/sewer, phone and cable utilities. Additional fees for pets and garage parking may apply.

Of course, the rest of the units will go for higher market rates, which can only mean charges to come for the somewhat depressed surrounding stretch of businesses.
