Volunteers Needed to Help Residents Complete Tax Forms in Ossining

The county is launching its annual program to help low- and moderate-income residents qualify for state and federal tax credits on their returns, and they are looking for volunteers to help.

The volunteers receive training in January -- no previous tax expertise required -- and will assist people between the dates of Feb. 1 and the April 15 tax filing deadline.

One of the county locations for these services will be in Ossining.

“This is an important program that last year helped 7,636 residents obtain refunds totaling $8.6 million,” said County Executive Robert. Astorino. “Crucial to the success of the program is the work of volunteers who actually do the tax returns.”
