Run United: A 5K Run For Health

Saturday morning's race supported United Way of Westchester and Putnam's health initiatives.

Hundreds of runners from across the region participated in the United Way of Westchester and Putnam's third-annual Run United, a 5K run benefiting county-wide health initiatives.

Participants met at Purchase College Saturday morning where three different events were open: a 5K, a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk; and a Toddler Dash for the youngest participants.

Funds raised help support the United Way's two county health initiatives--Step Up To Health and Voices for Positive Choices--which aim to reduce childhood obesity, help provide healthy food for low-income families, and help steer children away from destructive behavior, according chapter president and CEO Naomi Adler.
