Who is the Biggest All-Star Snub? [POLL]

The MLB All-Star Game is Tuesday night.

This Tuesday night is the annual MLB All-Star Game, and as with any all-star game, there’s been a lot of discussion about who was snubbed.

While Mets third baseman David Wright made the National League team, he was selected as a reserve after losing out on fan voting. Pablo Sandoval of the Giants is the starter. While Sandoval has only played 49 games so far this year due to injury, Wright is arguably an NL MVP candidate and has advantages over Sandoval in practically all offensive categories.

Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion was left off the American League all-star team despite mashing all season. Encarnacion is in the top 10 in the American League in most offensive categories, including on-base percentage (.380 percent), slugging percentage (.561), on-base plus slugging percentage (.942), runs scored (54), total bases (169), home runs (22), runs batted in (56) and plenty others.

Ernesto Frieri, of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, was traded earlier this year to the American League from the San Diego Padres. Since getting traded, Frieri has saved 11 games for the Angels. More impressively, he’s pitched 25.1 innings without giving up a run. With the Angels, he’s given up just seven hits while striking out 43.

Other snubs include Milwaukee’s Zach Greinke, Cincinnati’s Johnny Cueto, Pittsburgh’s James McDonald, Oakland’s Josh Reddick and Detroit’s Austin Jackson.

Add R.A. Dickey to the list, another Met having a great year is snubbed by a SF Giant player having an inferior year.

Inferior year? Cain is 9-3 with a 2.62 ERA and pitched a perfect game this year. Dickey is having a great year too but with the exception of his 12 wins, their numbers are very similar.
