Pride Takes Regional Crown

Last year Ossining (23-0) played Binghamton (21-1) in the Class AA regional final upstate, losing to the Patriots.

This year, much closer to home at Pace University Friday, the Pride and the Patriots again played each other for a regional championship and the right to go to the state final four.

Ossining wasn't going to be denied a second time.

Led by 39 points, 10 assists and six steals from Saniya Chong and 22 points and eight rebounds from Jalay Knowles, the Pride enjoyed sweet revenge this year with a 90-76 victory against Binghamton to earn a trip to the state final four for the first time since 2004.

Ossining will now play Section 3’s Cicero North Syracuse in the state semifinals 8 p.m. Friday, March 16 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.

Wall Street Pride

When you are having as successful a season as the Ossining Pride girls hoops team is, there are just rewards.

One of them is being recognized by the Wall Street Journal. That's a pretty impressive accomplishment.

Practice Starts

Today is a big day for every spring sports squad in Section 1, including Croton-Harmon and Ossining, because it’s the day that all varsity and junior varsity teams start practice.
