Ossining Schools Adjust Calendar After Sandy

In 2013, students will see just half a day more in the classroom to make up for Sandy closures.

Making up for time lost after Hurricane Sandy has and will continue to have little impact on the Ossining Union Free School District in the 2012-13 academic year.

"The only changes we have made is extending two Half Days to Full Days—December 6th and March 12th," confirmed Nicole Reis, executive assistant to the superintendent, in an email to Patch.

According to the school district's original calendar, Dec. 6, 2012 was initially marked as a Teacher Institute Day.

March 12 is listed on the district calendar as a Parent-Teacher Conference Day for elementary students.

No other changes have been made to the 2012-13 calendar.

The Ossining school district includes both the village and town of Ossining, and parts of Briarcliff Manor, New Castle and Yorktown.
