Prior to the 2013-14 budget discussion, there will be "a number of recognitions."

The district said in a statement, "Members of the school community are encouraged to attend this and all Board of Education meetings. Opportunities will be provided for members of the community to raise questions following the Work Session presentations and prior to Board of Education action on agenda items."

In a community "O-Blast," the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Council co-presidents urged residents to attend the meeting.

"Reductions under discussion this week include disbanding the pre-K program, reductions in teaching assistants, reducing or cutting all modified sports, and increasing transportation mileage limits," Beth Sniffen and Caroline Curvan wrote. "Now is the time to attend meetings and  speak up to protect the school programs that are important to us."
