Days of Wonder Celebrates 40 Years

Dobbs Ferry's Days of Wonder celebrates 40-years of childcare, as it's class of 2012 holds a special year-end show.

Days of Wonder child care program is celebrating 40-years of serving Dobbs Ferry and the surrounding area. They opened back in 1972 with just six children. Through the years, the facility has expanded and now their teachers care for 40 children.

Since its inception, the facility has become a cornerstone of the rivertowns. And many generations now call themselves Days of Wonder alumni.

"The center has grown over the years, but still maintains it's home away from home atmosphere," said Days of Wonder Director Jennifer Dawber.

On June 8, the children put on an end-of-the-year graduation show for parents. The students also held on art show, where they showcased what they had accomplished during the year.

"I always tear up when I see the children performing during their end-of-the-year show," said Dawber. "It's always so great to see the children having so much fun and seeing parents' eyes light up."
