Pulitzer Prize Winner John Cheever's Ossining Home is For Sale

If you have a half a million dollars, you can buy a Pulitzer Prize winning author's beautiful Dutch Colonial. John Cheever's Ossining home, located at 197 Cedar Lane, is for sale.

John Cheever, a Pulitzer Prize winning author, passed away in Ossining in 1982. His sprawling Dutch Colonial on Cedar Lane is now listed for sale. according to The Journal News. 

Cheever, an American novelist and short story writer known as "The Chekhov of the suburbs," is recognized as one of the most important short fiction writers of the 20th century.

In his book "The Day the Pig Fell Into the Well," published in 1954, Cheever writes: "... It had begun to blow outside, and the house creaked gently, like a hull when the wind takes up the sail. The room with the people in it looked enduring and secure ..."
