Croton Residents: A Chance to Ask Questions

A number of special meetings will be held with officials in Croton-on-Hudson.

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson will be holding a series of special meetings so residents can ask questions and voice concerns to officials. There will be three community meetings in total. Village Manager Abe Zambrano will be at the meetings along with a number of village department heads. Zambrano says he started these types of meetings about one-year after he was elected.

"I just want to hear from the residents. These meetings are for people to ask questions and bring up any concerns that they have," said Zambrano.

While village board meetings do not offer an optimal venue for asking questions, these series of meetings are geared towards questions asking. Zambrano says the community meetings are an extension of officials' initiatives to address community needs.

Zambrano says he thinks that communication is key to running an efficient operation, which is one of the reasons why he regularly attends senior meetings about once every month.

"We have also had other informational meetings—on issues with the water, the Croton Point Avenue project and the parking lot. So these are part of the informational series of initiatives that we have," said Zambrano.

Zambrano says he has an open door policy whenever people who live in the village have a question to ask or need help.

"When I'm in the office, I'm available to everybody who comes to the office. I never turn anybody down. I'm always available. I think it's important to maintain that as village manager," said Zambrano.

The Village of Croton-on-Hudson Community Meetings are as follows:

  • Wednesday October 24th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Harmon Firehouse
  • November 14th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30  at the Grand Street Firehouse
  • November 29th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30  at Washington Engine Firehouse
