The Ossining Fire Department has two new members.
At its Tuesday session, the village's Board of Trustees accepted the department's election of Daniel Oakes and Jheison Castro.
Oakes joins Steamer Company No. 1 as an active member for interior firefighting.
Castro joins the Washington Hook & Ladder Company No. 2 as an active member for interior firefighting.
In addition, the board voted to name Daniel Plachta as a driver for Utility 51, while Charles Burckhard and Ahmad Hussein were removed from the active rolls of Washington Hook & Ladder Company No. 2.
According to the OFD's website, there are more than 470 active volunteer members in the department.
The department boasts nine companies, six engines, two ladders, one rescue, one R.I.T. truck and a spill response trailer.
