Unlicensed Driver, Passenger Give Croton Police Fake Names

Police say the duo were picked up speeding down Route 9.

Croton police on patrol at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 13 stopped a car on Route 9 southbound for speeding.

The driver when interviewed gave false information about his identity. His passenger also provided the police with incorrect information about her name.

Police discovered the attempted hoax and found that the driver in fact had a suspended license.

The driver, a 19-year-old White Plains man, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, speeding, criminal impersonation and obstructing government administration. His passenger, 18 and also a White Plains resident, was charged with obstructing government administration. They were released without bail.
