Trucker in Kennedy Accident Charged with Leaving Scene

Rocco Scuiletti, a Dutchess County resident, was charged with leaving the scene of the vehicle accident. He's due in North Castle court on Aug. 7.

The truck driver involved in Kerry Kennedy's Friday car accident has been charged with leaving the scene of it, state police said.

Rocco Scuiletti, a 47-year-old Dutchess County resident, was driving his truck on Interstate 684 in North Castle on Friday when Kennedy's vehicle, a 2008 gray Lexus sedan, struck his 2011 International tractor trailer, police said.

A subsequent investigation, state police said, determined that Scuiletti knew about the accident and did not report it. Scuiletti's address shows that he lives near a border area for Poughkeepsie and LaGrange.

Scuiletti is due in North Castle justice court, located in Armonk, on Aug. 7, state police said.

Kennedy, a Bedford resident and former wife of Gov. Andrew Cuomo, , based on consultation she received from doctors. She in North Castle court on Tuesday and is due back on Aug. 14.

Scuiletti is skeptical about a seizure causing the accident, according to Newsday. "She looked to me like someone who was heavily intoxicated or on drugs," he told the news site.

Kennedy should start feeling ashamed of herself now that her seizure has been blamed and this working truck driver is drawn in to her drama. And her brother dragged the nurses at Northern Westchester into his drama when he resisted rules of walking off premises with his infant..

Why was Kennedy not charged with hit and run? If she did have a seizure than she should lose her license. Either way she should not be able to operate a motor vehicle and would truly be a "Limousine Liberal".

This should come as a surprise to no one. I am surprised they havent had this poor trucker charged with Child Abuse or some other insidious crime as well. I would bet my next paycheck they are digging hard to find dirt to throw at him. In the end, the Kennedy Gang as I call them, (along w/Assistance from behind the scenes at the Governor's Office) will make sure Kerry comes out smelling like a rose and the trucker is knee deep in Legal debt for years to come!

I hope a very smart and well to do lawyer will come forward to defend him for free.

put it this way ,she is lucky to be alive it could of been worse . The driver shouldn't be at fault he probably has a clean bill on his drug / alcohol testing all the time.It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know not to take any kind of medication if it impairs your ability to drive. The one that needs the head examined is the one in the spotlight.
