Sleepy Hollow Man Charged with Bear Mountain Parkway Hit and Run

A Sleepy Hollow man was charged with a hit and run, after reportedly swerving into the oncoming lane, injuring an oncoming driver, and then fleeing on foot, LoHud.com reported Monday.

The 24-year-old was reportedly driving on Bear Mountain Parkway Sunday around 5:20 p.m. when he struck a car at Locust Avenue. Two Honda Civics collided, seriously injuring a 49-year-old woman from New Paltz.

Westchester County Police reported that the man turned himself in about four and a half hours later, after police searched the area with a tracking dog.

The man was charged with misdemeanor level fleeing the scene of a serious injury accident and several traffic violations and released on $1,000 bail. 

The woman was taken to Westchester County Medical Center for fractured ribs, ankle and elbow, according to the LoHud.com report.
