Report: Eastchester Man Dies at New York's Saint Barnabas Hospital After 8-Hour Wait

John Verrier, 30, of Eastchester was found dead at Saint Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx early Monday after showing up in the Emergency Room reportedly complaining of a rash and waiting eight hours for treatment that never came.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Verrier was found dead in the waiting room and had entered the hospital at about 10 p.m. Sunday. News 12 Westchester reported Verrier was from Eastchester.

Hospital officials said he was found at 6:40 a.m. and had been checked numerous times throughout the night. An employee of the hospital, speaking anonymously to WABC-TV News as reported by the New York Daily News, disputed that claim saying that the hospital does not have a policy on checking on patients in the waiting room.
