Prostitution-Related Arrest in Ossining

A man was arrested in the Town of Ossining on a prostitution-related charge.

A Port Chester man was arrested on charges of promoting Prostitution 4th Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree, misdemeanors, following a traffic stop by Westchester County Police at Routes 9 and 9A.

Rolando Martinez, 26, of Leonard Street was stopped by Officer Michael Demaio after the officer observed Martinez’ vehicle traveling at 50 mph in a posted 30 mph zone. Martinez was unable to produce a driver’s license and a computer check revealed it had been suspended on eight previous occasions.

His passenger told officers that she was a prostitute and that Martinez was driving her to several appointments she had in the Tarrytown-Ossining-Peekskill area that evening.

Martinez is due to appear in Ossining Town Court on July 10. The arrest occurred on June 4.

Really difficult for me to understand why this is the lead article in today's Ossining-Croton Patch. The man arrested lives in Port Chester. Is there nothing of greater interest in Ossining or Croton?

How nice of her to bring that up.

The lead articles on the website continually change. There was also an article this morning on Teatown's Dr. Michael Rubbo who was awarded the DEC's 2012 Hudson River Estuary Partner Award. Right now, there is an article in the top spot about the Sleepy Hollow Farmers' Market at Phelps, which will be located in the Rockwood Hall parking area just north of the hospital.
