Police: Man Tries to Push Woman's Head onto Stove, She Clocks Him with Pot

Santos has a criminal history, Sullivan said, which resulted in him being held at Westchester County Jail in Valhalla with no bail set.

Anthony L. Santos, 40, of Hunter Street, Ossining was arrested by police on Friday, 12:40 p.m for felony attempted assault of his girlfriend.

Lt. William Sullivan said he had tried to push his girlfriend's head onto the stove and she fought him off by clocking him in the face with a pot.

The woman wasn't injured in the altercation, while Santos sustained a cut over his left eye and on his face, for which he was treated at Phelps Memorial Hospital. From there, police brought him to headquarters.

Police responded to a 911 call for help and found the female victim upon their arrival. There were young children present in the apartment, said Sullivan, when Santos had tried to slap her and get her over the stove.

Police contacted child protective services to investigate and charged Santos with:

  • attempted assault in the second, a felony,
  • unlawful imprisonment,
  • and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Sullivan said he "wouldn't let her leave the apartment" and had a quantity of marijuana in his possession, prompting the additional charges.

Santos has a criminal history, Sullivan said, which resulted in him being held at Westchester County Jail in Valhalla with no bail set, pending a court date.

Note: an arrest does not indicate a conviction.
