Police Investigate Ossining Burglary

A burglary and an assault are just a few of the incidents that the Village of Ossining Police Department dealt with recently.

The following police blotter is a release from the Ossining Police Dept.

A resident of 10 Madison Avenue reported a break-in that took place sometime between the afternoon of November 25 and the evening of November 26. Taken in the burglary were two long guns, one a 12 gauge shotgun and the other a carbine.

Robert Hicks, age 38, of 35 Snowden Avenue was arrested for assault on November 23rd around11:43 in the evening. Police were called to 171 North Highland Avenue for an altercation in progress.  When they arrived at that location officers were met by a female victim who stated that Mr. Hicks was fighting with her boyfriend and when she tried to stop the fight he punched her in the face. Mr. Hicks was located hiding nearby underneath a van. He was arrested and charged with Assault in the Third degree, a class A misdemeanor.
