The man allegedly drew a knife after security confronted him about a stolen 18-pack of Bud.

The following was provided by the state police, it does not indicate a conviction.

New York State Police arrested a Cortlandt Manor man after he allegedly threatened security with a knife after stealing a case of beer, police report.

The suspect, Christopher Acebal, 46, allegedly stole an 18-pack of Budweiser from the Mohegan Lake Walmart on Saturday, June 16, around 3:25 p.m. As he attempted to flee the store, a Walmart security officer confronted him. Acebal produced a knife and threatened the officer with the knife and then fled into the parking lot, where he was quickly apprehended by Cortlandt State Police units.

Acebal was charged with one count of first-degree robbery and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail. He is due to reappear in Cortlandt Town Court on Monday, June 18, at 9:00 a.m. Additional charges are possible at that time. The arrest was made by Trooper Charles Fontanelli and Investigator Sean J. I wish I had a dollar for eveyone who disparages Walmart, but yet "sneaks" in there to save a few dollars. I would never have to work again. They will never admit it and I bet they even smile at the Walmart door person as they leave with a cart full of items.

Walmart is easy to steal from. Kohls also. Anyone who gets caught is incompetent.

Is this from personal experience? You just become more and more likable with each post.

I only shop at WM when they are cheap on a particular item that I need. And each time I go there for something like wiper blades, I leave upset that they can't keep simple stuff (like wiper blades) fully stocked and often leave empty handed. The stores in Fishkill (or Monroe) are much nicer (although I still only go for specific items, and rarely). The one in Mohegan is a dive.
