Police Chase Starts at Scenic Drive, Ends on Furnace Dock Road

A teen was charged with possession of of hypodermic needles.

A Croton Police officer called headquarters at about 12:29 p.m. Dec. 30 to report that the driver of a car near Scenic Drive had refused to stop when requested.

Police pursued the car along Furnace Dock Road through several neighborhoods; across a lawn; and then into a driveway at 268 Furnace Dock Road, where the driver left the car.

An officer on foot captured the driver, who was taken to police headquarters along with a girl who was a passenger in the car.

Croton police requested assistance from Westchester County Police and New York State Police to search for evidence that the officers believed had been thrown from the car near Scenic Drive. Needles in a plastic bag were recovered.

The 19-year-old driver was charged with criminal possession of hypodermic needles and endangering the welfare of a person under 17. He was released on payment of $500 bail.
