Police Arrest Illegal Immigrant in Ossining

Westchester County Police have reportedly arrested an illegal immigrant in the Town of Ossining.

The following is a news release from the Westchester County Police Dept.

THURSDAY, NOV. 17 – 10:22 a.m. – Segundo Chumaina-Alvarez, 41, of Newark, N.J. was arrested on Route 9A southbound at Route 133 after a traffic stop revealed that he was the subject of an active Immigration and Customs Enforcement warrant for illegally gaining re-entrance to the country, a felony. Chumaina-Alvarez was stopped by Westchester County Police Officer Rob Kelly for operating a van with expired North Carolina license plates. A license check determined that he was wanted by ICE for entering the United States after being deported approximately 12 years ago. He was turned over to Immigration agents and again faces deportation.

TUESDAY, NOV. 22 – 8:53 a.m. – Westchester County Police Officer Richard Maccarrone assisted an 84-year-old man who fell and injured his back at a residence on Ryder Road.  The man was subsequently transported to Phelps Memorial Hospital by the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

THURSDAY, NOV. 23 – 1:39 p.m. – Westchester County Police received a report of a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Route 9A in the vicinity of the Croton-on-Hudson border with the town of Ossining.  An officer checked Route 9A in Ossining but did not observe a wrong-way vehicle.

FRIDAY, NOV. 24 – A car struck a deer at the intersection of Glendale Road and Dawning Lane in Crotonville.  The driver was not injured.

SUNDAY, NOV. 27 – 9:50 a.m. – A resident of Spring Pond Road reported to Westchester County Police that someone attempted to change her email password remotely in an effort to access her email account and other personal information.  She was alerted to the attempt by her Internet service provider.
