Ossining's Bravest Honored in 1900s

Washington Hook & Ladder Company's Frank Palmietto has shared two pieces of Ossining Fire Department history, as Memorial Day approaches.

Washington Hook & Ladder Company #2, Westchester’s Oldest honored its member back of World War I in 1919 (See picture). Also attached is an article from the local newspaper back in 1918. In it you will see that there are three members that are listed as honorary Foremen as they were in the service. The first James Brundage lost his leg in World War I, he remained a member of the company until his passing.
