Ossining Man Charged with DWI in Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow Police said a car on North Broadway struck an oncoming car, careened into a telephone pole and struck a fence.

Calls about a car accident on Route 9 and Highland flooded Sleepy Hollow police headquarters at 6:24 a.m. Nov. 18. One car had apparently crossed the double yellow line and struck a second car which then careened into a telephone pole and struck a fence, police said.

Officers and ambulance were dispatched, as well as the fire department due to air bag deployment. The police sergeant requested a unit from Tarrytown PD to assist with traffic control on North Broadway as both lanes were impassable briefly, blocked by vehicles and apparatus.

Spilled fuel on the roadway was cleaned by the fire department. Con Edison was called for the struck pole.
