Ossining Man Arrested for Burglary Back in Court

A quick thinking neighbor alerted Ossining police to an alleged robbery on Edward St.

An Ossining man, who is charged with burglary, will be back in court tomorrow. Police say 24-year-old Tavar Young broke into an apartment on Edward Street in Ossining. The alleged robbery happened at 9:45 a.m. on June 16.

A neighbor called police after they say they saw a man, wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt, climbing through a second story window. When Village of Ossining Police Department Sergeant Damiano got to the building, he says he saw Young crawling out of the rear window.

Police had to chase after the 24-year-old, but they were able to catch him at the intersection of Martin Rd. and South Highland Ave. The alleged robbery happened two blocks from Young's home.

Village of Ossining Officer Marvise Rennalls charged Young with second-degree burglary, which is a felony. The 24-year-old will appear at Ossining Village Justice Court tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
