Coyotes have been seen in the Ossining Area and are becoming part of the local wildlife.
Please take the following precautions recommended by the USDA and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
- If pets are left outside, make sure they are supervised.
- Do not leave small children unattended and playing in the yard.
- Cover garbage and do not leave food outside.
If a Coyote approaches you, try to appear as aggressive as you can and attempt to deter its presence. Do not run from the animal; maintain eye contact and move to an area of activity.
