Man Accused Of Rape In Sexual Relationship With 12-Year-Old

Investigation started when girl failed to show up for school

A 34-year-old Port Chester man today is charged with rape after the discovery of a sexual relationship he was having with a 12-year-old girl, according to Port Chester Police.

Rony Montoya was arrested after a two-day investigation that started as a missing person's report when the victim failed to show up for school, police said.

Montoya, according to police, knew the girl through her family and that the girl apprently had a consensual relationship with Montoya. He is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree criminal sexual act and first-degree attempted rape.

Police said the Port Chester Detective Division started looking for the girl when she did not go to school and her family did not know her whereabouts. Police said the relationship with Montoya was revealed when police found the girl.

Montoya, who is a Port Chester resident, is awaiting arraignment.
