Kerry Kennedy Trucker Pleads Not Guilty

Rocco Scuiletti mailed in plea on Monday, court confirms.

The Dutchess County in the North Castle vehicle accident with Kerry Kennedy, has pleaded not guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, North Castle justice court confirms.

Rocco Scuiletti, 47, mailed in his plea of not guilty to one count of leaving the scene of an accident, according to a clerk. The charge is a non-criminal violation, he was given the option of sending in his plea rather than appearing in court personally. He had a deadling for Aug. 7 to make a plea, which he could have done in person.

Scuiletti is not scheduled for tonight, the court confirmed. However, he has a court date for Sept. 7, at 8:30 a.m. Legally, however, he can have an attorney appear for him, and avoid showing up in person, a clerk explained.

Kennedy, a Bedford resident, is accused of impaired driving after she hit Scuiletti's truck on the morning of July 13, on a stretch of Interstate 684 that's near Armonk. She has pleaded not guilty.

Kennedy recently tested positive for a form of the Ambien sleeping drug. She has a prescription for it, and initially told police that she may have mistakenly ingested the drug instead of a thyroid medication that she is also prescribed for. However, at , she felt that, based on medical testing, a seizure may have been the cause. When result, she said "it now appears that my first instinct was correct."

Kennedy's next court date is Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. It was adjourned from the original date of Aug. 14, the court confirmed.

Anyone know why Kennedy was not charged with leaving the scene.

Because she's a Kennedy. They get away with everything. Just look at their cousin in connecticut. Took 40 yrs to arrest the Kennedy for bashing a girl in the head with a golf club. Ret Det Mark Furman reinvestgated the case and found the cover up.
