Car Slides out of Parking Spot, Pins Driver's Leg

Croton EMS and firefighters extricated a Skyview Nursing Home staffer trapped on an icy hill.

Firefighters had to extricate a man whose car slid out of a parking space toward a hill, pinning the driver's leg between his open car door and a small tree.

The man, a worker at Sky View Rehabilitation and Health Care, 1280 Albany Post Road, was leaving for the day when his car skidded in the parking lot at about 1:15 p.m.

"I'm not sure how he did it," said Croton fire Chief John Munson. "Somehow the car went forward and he pinned himself between the door and the tree."

Washington and Rescue companies responded, as did Croton EMS. Firefighters lifted the car so they could free the man's leg. The driver was taken for treatment by Croton EMS.

How did this call go out as a "CAR OVER THE CLIFF" "EXTRICATION NEEDED"?

Hi, Stefano -- well, extrication was needed.

This man is not a skyview employee.. He was a rep from a company looking for sales...

ok lanning in the true sense of the word maybe he was extricated. My comment was meant about "car over the cliff with person trapped inside"... with that dispatch the responders are expecting something awhole lot worse than what they found.
