DWI-Linked Crash Seriously Injures Passenger

A Peekskill man with a previous DWI conviction plowed into four parked cars in Ossining Feb. 22.

An accident involving five cars—four of them parked—sent a Mount Kisco man to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center with serious injuries and led to serious charges against Peekskill resident Robert L. Perry.

The accident took place on Broad Avenue in Ossining at 9:15 p.m. Feb. 22.

Police alleged Perry, 41, was driving while intoxicated and with his abilities impaired by drugs.

The passenger, 57, suffered severe trauma as a result of the accident, police said.

He and Perry were taken to Phelps by the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Due to Perry's behavior there a court order was obtained to draw Perry's blood.

He faces a misdemeanor DWAI charge, and he was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance—PCP-laced marijuana, police said.

Because Perry has a previous DWI conviction, the charges of driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle are both felonies.

He was also wanted by the Town of Mount Pleasant on a warrant for violation of an order of protection.

He was arraigned and sent to Westchester County Jail on no bail.
