Croton's Finest Make Big Drug Bust

Croton Police have made a drug bust involving marijuana worth $345,000.

An eight-month investigation has resulted in a huge drug bust here in Croton-on-Hudson. Investigators say Andron Lewis was getting marijuana shipped to his Croton workplace, The Institute of Applied Human Dynamics, from a California location. The Institute, located at 1 Mount Green Road in Croton, provides services for people with developmental disabilities in Westchester and the Bronx.

Police say one of Lewis' jobs at the Institute was to transport residents. Yesterday, while transporting three residents to the Bronx, Lewis was stopped by police. Investigators found two large packages of marijuana in the vehicle. The packages weighed more than 53 lbs. Police estimate the street value of the pot to be $345,000.

Police arrested the New Rochelle resident and charged him with felony marijuana possession. Lewis is being held at the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is due back in Croton Village Court on April 4.
