Croton Cops: Beer Thief, Disorderly on Golf Course

A summary of recent police activity in the village of Croton-on-Hudson.

Two Cases of Beer

A man made off with a few cases of beer from the Croton AP supermarket and got away in a black town car, police said.

Police received a call for a larceny in progress on Oct. 16 at 11:25 a.m. The area is in State Police jurisdiction however, so police forwarded the case to them for further investigation.

Shots or Construction?

Village of Croton-on-Hudson Police got a call about two loud bangs in the area of Brook Street and Riverside that the resident believed to be gunshots.

Police responded on Oct. 17 at 10:20 p.m and figured it was "likely the heavy construction vehicles with the repaving project on Route 9," Det. Paul Camillieri said.

Disorderly on Golf Course

A man had to be escorted off the Hudson National Golf Course on Oct. 19 at 4:47 p.m. after police received a call about a disorderly person.

The man, 38, from NYC, was sent on his way, police said.

House Party

Police broke up a house party, full of teens and some alcohol, on Oct. 19 at 10:47 p.m. on Arrowcrest Drive.

Det. Camillieri described it as a large house party, with alcohol on the scene but "not a lot."

Officers interviewed about 25 teens, sending those under the influence home with their parents and others who didn't seem to be under the influence on their way.

Missing Person

A female runner in Harry Chapin Memorial Run was reported missing to Croton Police on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 3:15 p.m. She was located at 3:58 p.m., police said, unable provide further information on her age or what had happened.

Fraud?

A Lounsbury Road resident thought they had received a fraudulent call from someone claiming to be from a window company on Oct. 21.

But local police said they found the number to be legitimately from a window company and not a scam.
