Croton Cops Arrest Man Wanted for Years on Felony DWI Charge

On Jan. 15, police were able to finally arrest a man who's been wanted in Croton since 1999.

Luis Carlos Octavalo, 37, of Peekskill, was charged with felony-level DWI in the village in 1999. It was "at least" the second time he had been charged within a ten year period, warranting the felony offense, Det. Paul Camillieri said.

Octavalo hadn't shown for court and "we'd been looking for him for a long time," he said.

County police apparently pulled over Octavalo and ran his name, bringing up his former DWI conviction and long-standing Croton warrant.

Police booked him and sent him to Westchester County Jail pending a court date.

Note: an arrest does not indicate a conviction.
