Crime in the Town of Ossining

A second theft at an area fitness club is among the incidents that the Westchester County Police Department is investigating in the Ossining area.

In January Patch reported on an alleged stolen gym bag incident at on North State Road. Now, police are investing a report of an Iphone that was taken from a bench in the women’s locker room. The incident tops our police blotter report compiled by Spokesman Kieran O'Leary.

Monday, Jan. 23 – 11:30 a.m. – A patron at Club Fit on North State Road reported to Westchester County Police that someone removed her iPhone from a bench in the women’s locker room. The theft occurred between 10:35 and 11:30 a.m.

Sunday, Feb. 5 – 9:05 p.m. – Westchester County police were called to a residence on Minkel Road to assist a man who was highly intoxicated.  The Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and transported the man to Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco.

Saturday, Feb. 4 – 12:49 p.m. – Westchester County Police were called to a residence on White Birch Drive to resolve a dispute between a home owner and a surveyor working in the area.  The surveyor had set up on the town’s “right-of-way” but the homeowner felt the surveyor was on his property.  The surveyor agreed to move to resolve the dispute.

Monday, Jan. 30 – 5:04 p.m. -- Westchester County police were called to a residence on Croton Dam Road to assist a woman in her 60s who was having difficulty breathing.  The Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and transported the man to Northern Westchester Hospital Center in Mount Kisco.

Saturday, Jan. 21 – 8:55 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a domestic dispute between a husband and wife on Bracken Road. The dispute was verbal in nature only.  The husband agreed to leave the residence for the night.

Friday, Jan. 20 – 10:30 a.m. – Westchester County police were called to the scene of a verbal dispute between residents of Woods Brooke Court and members of a moving company.  Both parties accused the other of being rude to them and said the argument had escalated from there.  The moving job was almost complete and an officer remained at the scene until the movers had left.

Thursday, Jan. 19 – 10:49 a.m. – A resident of Somerstown Road reported that some prescription medication was missing from her home. The resident said the only visitor to her home since she last saw the medication was a cleaning woman she recently retained. An investigation is continuing.
