Car Rollover on 9A: Town of Ossining Police Blotter

A car rollover on 9A is among the incidents that the Westchester County Police Department responded to in the Town of Ossining.

Sunday, Oct. 7 – 1:12 a.m. – Three officers responded to St. Paul’s On the Hill Episcopal Church on Ganung Drive after Westchester County Police received a report that loud noises were coming from the property. Officers checked the church and grounds and found nothing amiss.

9:37 p.m. – A resident of Haymont Terrace reported to Westchester County Police that she has been receiving harassing phone calls from a person she served with in the military a number of years ago.  The caller, who lives in Pennsylvania, was contacted by county police and advised to stop contacting the woman.

9:42 p.m. – An Ardsley woman contacted Westchester County Police to report that her daughter, a minor, had gone to her father’s home on Route 9A for a custodial visit but had not returned home.  County police officers went to the man’s home where he reported that he had brought his daughter to her grandmother’s house in Ardsley at 8 p.m. The girl’s mother was able to confirm the information and no further police action was needed.

Saturday, Oct. 6 – 7:11 p.m. – A teen-ager who was babysitting at a home on Stormytown Road called Westchester County Police to report that a small child had rung the doorbell of the home and that an unfamiliar car was in the driveway. When county police responded, a person in a neighboring home told officers he had given directions to a couple and a small child who were lost.

Friday, Oct. 5 – 11:09 p.m. – A resident of Bracken Road reported that he could hear loud music in the vicinity of his home. An officer responded but could not detect any noise.

Wednesday, Oct. 3 – 8:30 a.m. – A 29-year-old woman was injured when she lost control of her car and it rolled over several times on Route 9A about a quarter mile south of Route 134. The woman was taken by Briarcliff ambulance to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. (To read the full story click here).

Tuesday, Oct. 2 – 3:02 p.m. -- The mother of an 11-year-old girl reported to Westchester County Police that her daughter was punched in the arm on a school bus by a boy.  The matter was referred to the School Resource Officer and school officials for additional investigation.
