Borgia advocates for voter fraud

In an attempt to prevent voters from learning of her real record, Catherine Borgia has turned to the common theme of incumbent politicians: create controversy where none exists.  In typical “wag the dog” fashion Ms. Borgia has falsely accused her opponent, Peter Tripodi, of trying to disenfranchise voters by simply asking the Board of Elections to place registered voters in their proper election district.  For years voters at 10 Pinesbridge Road have been voting in Town of Ossining elections when, in fact, they are residents of the Town of New Castle. Tripodi stated, “We are simply asking that these voters be able to cast their ballots in the Town and Election District Westchester County says they belong in.”

Westchester GIS maps indicating the elected officials of the address in question can be found at: http://giswww.westchestergov.com/taxmaps/default.aspx?sMun=NewCastle.    Additionally, Westchester County GIS systems claim those voters residing at 10 Pinesbridge Rd. have elected officials in New Castle and County Election District 4, not District 9, but yet they have been voting in County Election District 9.

“Since day one, my opponent has skirted her record, as she has her responsibility as a County legislator.  Since day one, County Legislator Borgia has yet to cast a vote on a budget, either “yes” or “no”.  Since day one, she has blindly followed party leadership, including casting 5 votes to sue County Executive Rob Astorino with the taxpayers money.  It is no wonder why she is so quick to deflect attention from the real issues, because the only person who should be ashamed, is her; of her record as a legislator.”

Councilman Tripodi alleges that had these voters been voting in their proper election districts Susan Konig would have won the County Legislative race against Bill Burton in 2009 and the late John Mangialardi would have been a sitting judge this year.  “This is about doing the right thing, and once again my opponent walks out on doing it.  How many more examples of this problem need to be brought to light so voters can vote in their proper election district. It is unfortunate that Catherine Borgia not only holds the title of the only elected County Legislator to not vote on a budget since being elected, she can now also hold the title of the only elected County Legislator that is advocating for voter fraud.” said Tripodi.
