Friends of Old Croton Aqueduct Celebrate New Life of Keeper's House at April 27 Annual Meeting

The Friends of the Croton Aqueduct are giving new life to the Keeper's House on Walnut Street in Dobbs Ferry as a Visitor and Education Center.  At the FOCA annual meeting on Sunday, April 27, the Keeper's House  creative team will unveil the interior features of the Center. This includes state of the art exhibits which describe the engineering miracle of the Aqueduct and how it is still relevant in today’s fast paced, technological world; and a “time travel” offering taking visitors on a magical trip from the 1800s to 2014.  A new film celebrating the importance of the Aqueduct and the pleasure of the trail will have its premiere public showing. The featured speakers are:

 ·         Stephen Tilly, Principal of Tilly Architects

·         Robert Kornfeld, Vice President, Friends of Old Croton Aqueduct, and

 The public is invited to the April 27 event at 2 pm at the Irvington Public Library, Main and Astor Streets, across from the Metro-North Hudson Line Station in Irvington. Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct is a private, non-profit volunteer organization formed to protect and preserve the Old Croton Aqueduct. The Friends work to raise public awareness of the Aqueduct and trail and to secure the resources that will enable this historic greenway to remain unspoiled in perpetuity.
