Community Corner

A Republican for Shari Gordon for Cortlandt Town Justice

As we prepare to enter the third week of a government shutdown, people are not aligning themselves with their registered political party as much as they are asking members of both parties to start working together, to start working for the best interest of the people, to start working towards a resolution and a better future. Whether it is a federal government official or a local one, people expect the same thing; someone who cares enough to do what is right. That is why I am asking you to join me, to vote for change, to vote for Shari Gordon for Cortlandt Town Justice.

I want to introduce you to the Shari Gordon I know. When I think about Shari, what stands out the most is her modesty, her integrity, her compassion and her unselfish dedication to others. These qualities are the ones that govern every aspect of Shari’s life. Whether it is her work at home as a single, working mother of two young men, her work serving the community as an accomplished trial attorney concentrating in family and criminal law or her volunteer work as an advocate for the less fortunate, Shari is dedicated to helping others and making a positive impact on the community in which she lives.

Shari was the Program Chair for the Summer Justice Academy for Young Women, which introduces high school women from underserved communities to legal training and critical legal analysis in areas such as cyber bullying, civil and criminal law and procedure, family law and ethics. Shari provides pro bono legal services to Veterans and trains other lawyers on how they can do the same. She hosts a community public radio program on WVOX 1460 AM called “First Friday”, where she provides information to the audience on topics such as domestic violence, tips to parents with special needs children about their legal rights, and the legal aspects of affordable health care.
