Community Update

Wake up Ossining residents!!! The members of the Ossining Boat and Canoe club have been evicted from their club which has stood for 100 years.  The land grab is almost complete.  Once again blue collar people are being forced off the waterfront to make room for a restaurant for the rich.  And this will all be done under the guise of what is best for the Ossining community.  This is truly a dark day in the history of the town of Ossining.  The only people that will now enjoy the river view are those that have no connection to the river whatsoever.  They should be ashamed of themselves!  This is parkland that they want to build an upscale restaurant on with your tax dollars.  Ossining residents will foot the bill for feasability studies, architects, lawyers, construction etc.  A 65% three year failure rate is a bad number to gamble tax dollars on when many areas of Ossining desperately need improvement.  This will be a colossal waste of taxpayers dollars.  What will happen when it does fail?  The Ossining Boat and Canoe club costs the town nothing.  They are not a liability and have done nothing but good for the residents of Ossining.  They are self sustaining and  a cornerstone of the Ossining waterfront community. Don't believe the spin people.  Wake up to what is really going on here.  What are the true motives behind this?  Congratulations on dismantling a club and community of decent people that have weathered many storms for nearly 100 years.  Bravo Sue!  You finally did it!  Something to really be proud of...
