Vivian W. Shute, Longtime Volunteer, Passes Away

From the Yorktown Funeral Home: Vivian W. Shute, a lifelong Ossining resident, passed away on Feb. 9.

She was married to Monroe Shute on June 7, 1944 in Trinity Church in Ossining. Her hudband predeceased her in September 1988. Shute was a New York Telephone Company employee for 18 years. She was a pioneer member, a volunteer with Phelps Memorial Hospital, a volunteer with the American Red Cross, a Sunday school teacher, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ossining and a member of the Ossining Seniors.

Shute was the daughter of Helen Wassman and Walter Madden. She is survived by her daughter Nancyellen Paganelli, her son-in-law, David Paganelli, grandaughters, Julia and Vanessa Paganelli of Yorktown Heights, her daughter-in-law, Rosemary Brana-Shute of Charleston SC, her niece, Jane Feintuch and nephews, Tom, Alex and Jason of Poughkeepsie. The woman is predeceased by her son, Gary Brana-Shute of Charleston, SC and her sister Florence Laluna of Ossining.

Shute was an avid animal lover, in honor of her, donations may be made to the SPCA of Briarcliff Manor.
