Ossining's Richard Sheridan Dies at 83

Friends and family are saying goodbye to longtime Ossining resident Richard Sheridan.

The following is from Dorsey Funeral Home:

Richard Sheridan, 83, a longtime resident of Ossining passed away on February 6, 2012. Richard was born in Queens, NY in 1928, raised in Bronx, NY and was a resident of Ossining for more than 50 years.

He served in the Marine Corps during WWII. After leaving the service he began his career as a technical illustrator then graphic designer for Shell Oil. He then went on to spend a career spanning 30 years working as a Senior Communications Specialist at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center at IBM.

For 27 years Richard and his wife, Sherri, owned and operated Sheridan Associates/The Slide Center, a graphic art studio on Main Street, in the Village of Ossining.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sarah M. Sheridan and their children: daughters Maureen Sheridan of Wassaic, NY; Diane Perrin and husband Mark of Fort Myers, FL; his son Brian Sheridan and wife Patrice, and grandson Aiden Sheridan of Ossining, NY.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday at St Ann’s Church in Ossining. Interment follwed at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
