Beloved Ossining-Croton Resident Dead at 91

Tonight, friends and family are remembering longtime Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson resident Eleanor Kolman.

Eleanor (Horan) Kolman, a longtime resident of Ossining, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012. Eleanor was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ellen (Glennon) Horan. She was born in Manhattan on August 29, 1920. She was 91.

 She attended Cathedral High School and married William J Kolman in 1944. She worked for RH Macy where she was the first woman Floor Supervisor. 

Eleanor moved to Croton in 1955 where she raised her three children and in 1986 she moved to Ossining. She was a communicant of Holy Name of Mary in Croton and St Augustine's Church in Ossining.

Her family was the joy of her life and she will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Kolman was the loving mother of her three children; Eileen Kolman, Margaret (John) Kolman-Mandle and William (Patrizia) Kolman, Jr. and devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren; Nicholas, William, Christopher, Justin and Caitlin. She was predeceased by her husband William in 1999.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm with the Funeral Mass Thursday at 10:30am at St. Augustine's Church.

Interment St. Augustine Cemetery.
