Visiting Hours are Friday for Mike Fortini

Michael  J. Fortini, 61, a lifelong Ossining resident, passed away on Tues., July 15, 2014.  

Mike retired as a Detective from the Village of Ossining Police Department.  He was also a retired SSgt. with U.S. Army National Guard 101st Signal Battalion.  

Mike was an avid car lover and mechanic.  This was a passion and hobby of his since a young boy working at his father’s gas station in Ossining.  

Every friendship he made, he kept and treasured.  He was a proud man always willing to help others and expected nothing in return.  

Mike was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Annita, his sister Loretta Selvaggi, twin infant daughters, extended family members, and many loyal friends.

He is survived by his wife Joyce, son Michael (Kristi), daughter Michele (Tony) and “PA” to his most cherished and loved granddaughters Mariella, Mikayla, Marissa, and Gianna.  

The family will receive friends on Fri., July 18 at Leach and Thomas, Inc. 32 State St. Ossining from 4-8pm.  Mass of Christian burial Sat., July 19 at 10am at St. Ann’s Church Ossining, burial St. Augustine’s Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation (curePC.org), the Village of Ossining P.B.A., or the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the nurses and entire staff of 5 North at Phelps Memorial Hospital.
