George Secor, 77, of Cortlandt
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday at the Ossining Women's Club.
George F. Secor, 77, of Cortlandt Manor, NY, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013. Mr. Secor was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 23, 1935 to George J.F. Secor and Florence (Nightingale) Secor of Ossining, New York.
George was a graduate of Ossining High School and attended Keystone Junior College in PA. He joined the US Coast Guard in 1955 where he served for four years including a year and a half in Japan on the Island of Hokaido. This is where he obtained the rank of Second Class Petty Officer in Electronics.
He joined IBM in 1964 and worked in Central Scientific Services at the Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. George enjoyed target and trap shooting.
George is survived by his wife Nancy (Calam), two sons Andrew (Daisy), William, and grandson George. He is also survived by his sister Margaret S. Geissler of Pittsburgh, PA.
A Memorial gathering will be held starting at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 12th at Ossining Woman’s Club, 2 Lincoln Place, located on the corner of South Highland Avenue, Ossining. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Dorsey Funeral Home, Inc. in Ossining.
