Chair Master Design Studio (Age 8-14)

9:00 – 3:00 PM – $250

Fire up your kid’s creativity! A series of fun, hands-on challenges lead up to the main event – participants constructing life-sized chairs of their own design. Along the way they learn to use the tools and strategies of architects and product designers. Working in teams, campers will use cardboard, duct tape and mailing tubes to create chairs that support their weight, from chaise loungers to thrones to gaming chairs and more. On the last day of camp, we’ll organize a celebration where kids present their work to each other and their families. Chair Masters is presented by ArchForKids, which provides amazing learning experiences grounded in architecture, engineering and design.

Our camps are designed to engage children in the creative process and develop problem solving skills through the arts and sciences. For certain projects children will be grouped by age and others they will work in teams of different ages to allow for mentoring opportunities and promote leadership skills within older students. In addition to the themed activity for the week, children will enjoy lots of free play, games (indoor & outdoor), imaginative play, movement and surprise visits from special guests during the week. $25 non refundable registration fee is required to save your space.Space is limited, so register early by entering your child’s name and age below the program and paying the $25 registration fee. 10% off for early registration – Before June 1.
