Last night I saw an absolutely fantastic production of the show that put Stephen Sondheim on the map, "Company". The score is challenging to professionals! The fact that it is being performed virtually flawlessly by Croton Teen Theatre's cast of exceptional young performers makes it an event not to be missed! There are two more performances today (Saturday) at 3:00 and 8:00 at Croton-Harmon High School, 36 Old Post Road South in Croton. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors over 65. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
And yesterday afternoon I stopped by the dress rehearsal of Shakespeare's Macbeth, at Vasallo Park (behind Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton) and watched this same virtuoso group of performers dig into the Scottish play. What fun it was to see them savor the language of the Bard and delight in one of his bloodiest tragedies! Macbeth has it's first performance Saturday at 11:00 am, with a second performance Sunday at 3:00pm. Performances are at Vasallo Park weather permitting, or in the Croton Academy of Arts space under Grouchy Gabes (if it is raining). Admission is FREE. Bring a blanket and beverages.
Hope to see you at one (or more) performances. You will enjoy the heck out of it!
