Castelli backs Castaldi

New York Assemblyman Bob Castelli endorses candidate Janis Castaldi over incumbent David Carlucci.

Assemblyman says Janis has record of reaching across aisle for results

OSSINING - With just days until the November elections, New York Assemblyman Bob Castelli has announced his "full-throated support" on Janis Castaldi, a businesswoman and former deputy mayor who is challenging David Carlucci for New York's 38th Senate District seat.

Castelli is a nationally recognized expert on criminal justice and security matters and was first elected to the Assembly in a 2010 special election. He was given the title "Hero of Reform" by former Mayor Ed Koch on behalf of the non-partisan, good government group "New York Uprising." Groups that have endorsed Castelli include the National Federation of Independent Business, the Sierra Club, and New Yorkers for Growth.

"Janis is a trustworthy public servant with a sterling career in both business and government," said Castelli. "She knows how to work across the aisle to create jobs and make the difficult decisions that will put our economy once again on a path to prosperity.

"Janis Castaldi isn't a career politician: she's a citizen-legislator who knows how to balance budgets, support small business, and create jobs. I know that she will lead where others have failed, and I'm proud to support her in this important election."

"It's an honor to have the support of Assemblyman Casteli," responded Castaldi. "Bob has been a friend and a mentor during this campaign, and I aspire to continue and build upon the extraordinary work he's done in the Assembly as our district's representative in the State Senate."
